Welcome New Line Dancers!

May 22, 2015

On Friday May 22nd, more than 80 new dancers, primarily from the Sayville Adult Ed program, had the opportunity to try out their new steps at the SBA Building in Center Moriches at a "Welcome To Country Line Dancing" dance. The event was hosted by their instructor Lynn Robles with the help of DJ Frank Kollmann and some of our Wednesday night regulars who were happy to "share their feet" for the new dancers to follow. Such a FUN night for all!

Michael Murphy Fundraiser a Huge Success!

April 25th, 2015

We all had an amazing night at the West Sayville Fire Department!!! Hundreds of people came out for a country line dance fundraising event featuring music by the band County Line and line dance instruction by DJ Frank Kollmann and Lynn Robles.

This fundraiser was one of several, which will benefit an addition to the L.I. Maritime Museum in Sayville that will include classrooms and a training center for the Sea Cadets as well as exhibit space to highlight Navy SEALS, in honor of Navy SEAL LT Michael Murphy. Guests were treated to a special visit by Michael’s father, Daniel J. Murphy.

Santa kicks up his heels with Senior Line Dancers!

Friday, December 19th, 2014

As seen in "Smithtown Matters" -- The Smithtown Senior Citizen Department Line Dancers were recently treated to a visit from Santa -  not just any Santa, but a Line Dancing Santa! While the dancers were warming up to Silver Bells and Little Saint Nick, in flew Santa and onto the dance floor he landed. Santa was able to lead three dances before he needed to get back to his official duties.

Laura Greif, Program Director at the Smithtown Senior Citizen  Department who hosted the event, said “Line Dancing is just one of many fitness activities we sponsor.  We regularly offer Zumba,  Yoga/Pilates and Strength Training classes all taught by certified instructors. It is true what they say - move it or lose it!”

Line Dancing classes are open to all Smithtown residents age 60 and older.  Classes are held on Thursday mornings at the Smithtown Senior Citizen Center from 10-11:30 am. Come on down and dance with our instructor Lynn and the rest of the gang!
